Hi!!I am one Japanese in Vancouver, Canada.
Today I will share what I was surprised because of different cultures.
I will mainly explain three things that I was surprised in Canada.
One of the biggest surprised thing is boundary line in each situation. I would like to mention relationships between boss and employee. I am fortunately working a retail shop located in downtown. There is actually one of the biggest retail in the world. That is why there are a lot of employees. I guess there are more than 50 people working in there. however, each person is really thoughtful and considerable. It is no kidding, I can swear that is true from my heart. Of course people have preference and different personalities, so it is hard to be close everyone, even given these reality, I could say I do not have any people who I hate. If I ask any question. They sincerely answer what I want to know.
Main stream that I want to say is especially about people who work high position.
They never behave bossy attitude toward employee.
The way of telling instruction is really polite and respectable. On the other hand, it is more clear line in Japan compare to Canada.
It is just from my experiences, so don’t take seriously.
It is totally depends on each person. So I can not say as a general speaking. I thought it tend to be a lot of number of people who behave employee with bad way.
some people do let employee do whatever they want employee to with using the power of high position.
According to data, these kind of things makes some Japanese people feel stress.
However, My most colleges are really love our boss.
reason is obviously clear. conversation between boss and employees looks like friends. So at the beginning, I confused how to keep relationships with boss , how much we can talk.
English is my second language, so I am not sure what kind of things make them feel rude.
Anyway I like this near bounder line in workplace.
I want to get how they do balancing both keeping nice relationships and do good performance for company. I will ask for these tips before I leave here.
I wrote little bit negative things about Japan among this vlog. But Actually I really love my countries. I could know how much Japan is good countries. Study abroad let me realize these things too.
